Sunday in Amersham

On Sunday we drove to the beautiful Amersham in Buckinghamshire. It's located 30 mins by car North West of London, and the town is split into two distinct areas, "Old Amersham" with several stunning buildings and old pubs, and "Amersham-on-the-Hill".
There we met up with Erik and John to grab some lunch, drive around the area and visit estate agents, in the search for a property for my mother
We opted for a pub lunch in the beautiful "Old Town"

I had a delicious pan fried lemon sole with prawns in a lemon butter sauce at The Kings Arms

Amersham has a direct Chiltern Railway fast train in to Marylebone, as well being linked to London by the underground (Metropolitan Line) straight in to Baker Street.
- That would be ideal for my Mum, and for us too of course!

Today...

Sean had his first professional piano lesson today, with Miss Hiroko at school (although he's had several with his grandma before). We later practised his homework at home, then play-time and silly games on Photo Booth for the rest of the afternoon :-)
For lunch I cooked a chicken Thai green curry using diced chicken breast, coconut milk, curry paste, lime, bamboo shoots and sugar peas together with this carb free pasta (texture not great though but good for the waist line!).

On the school run I was wearing a white long ribbed knit jumper with black sleeves from Primark with my Prada boots.

Cipriani Bodrum

When we arrived at our hotel on our first day, we asked the reception to book a table at iconic restaurant Cipriani which has opened recently in the new Palmarina (as we had heard it could be difficult to get a table) in Yalikavak.
So, on Friday evening we took at taxi, about 25 mins drive to the beautiful waterfront location, and after admiring the super yachts in the marina, we were given a very warm welcome, shown to a great table in the centre of the restaurant under the stars and then enjoyed several hours of fine dining (seafood risotto and lobster salad) excellent wine and plenty of people watching including Turkish and international socialites.

We had Sean with us (and so we didn't pop in to the Billionaire Club next door afterwards!), and the staff were super child friendly, even making up a little bed for him with a cushion and blanket when he got tired :-)
One thing's for sure - we'll be back!

Pub lunch & house viewing

Popped out locally to grab a bite to eat before viewing a town house for sale here in Marylebone, that has a self contained flat in the basement, with its own entrance (ideal for my Mum in other words! 😊)

Cecconi's

Andrea and I had a girly afternoon yesterday with shopping and giggles around Bond Street, then a celebratory lunch in one of our favourite Mayfair hang out spots, Cecconi's,

Sunday in Dalston

On Sunday we drove to the impossibly hip and up and coming area of Dalston/Hackney, where my brother resides these days.
We had lunch at a place which is only accessible from the Regent's Canal towpath, and where ducks, passing cyclists and dog-walkers are excellent entertainment (especially as one guy and his Boris bike had an accident which resulted in him falling in the water right next to us!)

After lunch we strolled over to the Swedish bakery Fabrique for coffee with delicious cinnamon and cardamon buns. Us Swedes really do seem to get everywhere, LOL!

Grandpa Laurie visiting

This weekend we had the pleasure of a visit from Bear's Dad, (and Sean's Grandpa) - Laurie. Sean refers to him as 'The giant' as he is 198cm(!) tall and just loved spening time with his farfar :-)

We spent the weekend eating out at various restaurants such as Ishtar and Summerhouse  and after a traditional Swedish breakfast that I prepared at home. Bear also took his Dad and Sean for a lovely al freso lunch on the lawn at Stoke Park.

It was lovely for us to have the three generations together and we agreed that we must do it more often..

Oh, and here is my favourite pic that was simply too good to shrink for the collage:

Father and son, with the envious genes..
Pretty unbelievable to think that these two handsome men are 48 and 73 years old! Now that, you wouldn't have guessed, right?!

H.A.P.P.Y

Mum arrived on Tuesday, and she appeared to have brought Summer with her to London :-) What a privilege to be alive and healthy, have the sun's warmth on my skin, and my loved ones around me!! Here are some pics from the last few days:

This fab tune is on repeat in our household, and really explains how I feel at the moment!
