Rooftop drinkies at the Nest (and other places)

Last Friday Gerry and I finally got to try out The Nest, a rooftop bar and restaurant at the Treehouse Hotel. As you're only allowed a two hour seating in most places around central London we moved on to Gordon Ramsay's Lucky Cat's pop up terrace, and followed on with more drinks at the Churchill Cigar Bar n Terrace.  We finally wrapped up at Nobu Portman with some yummy late night food and a couple of Aperol Spritz until closing time.  Bar hopping at it's best!

I got the all clear!

Happy bunny today as the result from my breast biopsy came and the lump turned out to be a simple lymph node (type B1) - meaning no cancer, yay! It's been a very long two week wait and I can finally exhale now..

Just the two of us

Another al fresco lunch, this time in Hush's pretty courtyard bang in Mayfair.

48 hours with Mamma

Only outdoor dining was allowed due to Covid restrictions and at first it was a bit nippy, hence the big coat. (tomorrow Monday 17/5 everywhere opens up indoors whoop!)

We had lunch at Beech House in Amersham (crawling distance from mum's place)

then cabbed it down to Amersham Old Town and the Elephant & Castle for drinks afterwards.

Next day the sun thankfully came out again. We had rosé with strawberries in her garden all day and I stayed a second night. Mother daughter quality time indeed.

Give blood - save a life

London West End Blood Donor Centre

Checking my iron levels first

The vaccination card I was given after my first jab

Last week I gave blood at the donor centre on Margaret Street in central London. I have donated there before but quite a few years ago. Apart from saving a life, as their slogan says, I felt I wanted to give back to the NHS after everything they've done for me and my family from free covid tests and free vaccinations and most recently my speedy breast surgeon appointment and the biopsy at the hospital. My aim is to keep it up a couple of times a year if possible.

Hyde Park

To mix it up a bit I chose a new run route - this time through Hyde Park instead of Regents Park. Breathtaking scenery on this particular morning!

Mother daughter day

Gosh these pics makes me realise just how big (read tall!) Scarlett Grace is for her age (7). Here she's wearing new dungarees I bought from Marks & Spencer in size 10-11 years! She'll be towering over me in a few years no doubt lol.

Nobu Portman

Girls lunch with my besties at the brand new Nobu Portman Square - what an absolute delight it was to see signs of life coming back to London!
