Health is Wealth!

Last month I went back to The London clinic in Marylebone after discovering something hard, pea sized, in my left breast. This time around I decided to have a full "MOT" for complete piece of mind, so I didn't just do the 3D mammogram but I also an ultrasound and a whole 1h(!) MRI scan of both boobies. The stress and anxiety that followed was so overwhelming but thankfully I had the best news as nothing showed up as sinister, and I got the all clear. No more bloody lumps and bumps now, please - for the love of god - I can’t hack it!!! Health most certainly is real wealth!

I got the all clear!

Happy bunny today as the result from my breast biopsy came and the lump turned out to be a simple lymph node (type B1) - meaning no cancer, yay! It's been a very long two week wait and I can finally exhale now..

When you discover a lump in your breast...

... the procedure in this country is that you call your GP surgery and they will give you an appointment ASAP (I was seen the day after), and the doctor will examine you.

Here they dont mess around with anything to do with the breasts, and NHS has a 2 week urgent referral rule.

I was seen by a breast surgeon at Charing Cross hospital last week (within fourteen days of seeing my doctor).  At the hospital I had a scan which confirmed my lump and after that I had a biopsy that was sent off to the lab. They had to dig quite a few times to get the amount of breast tissue that they needed and it was brutal to say the least as the above pic shows.

Now it's just a waiting game and hopefully I'll get a good result in about 10 days time, so watch this space..
