London Lockdown - Together is our favourite place to be!

\

There we were at home on March 23rd  when the announcement came on the BBC saying that the Prime Minister would address the nation at 8.30pm! We had a good idea what was coming (lock down) and decided to take immediate action.

We had planned to get away from central London for a few weeks anyway, especially as our family ski holiday had to be cancelled and now seemed to be the time to do it - but we had to act fast. One of Bear’s friends owns a lovely cottage right on the beach in a small village in Kent called Kingsdown which was available to rent. So with only a couple of hours’ notice, we packed up the kids, our clothes, some food, meds & toilet paper, laptops and iPads into the car and hit the road south.

We arrived late at night, tired but happy to find our little piece of heaven, our new home away from home, to hunker down and get through this period of self-isolation, together as a family. It’s a lovely place, garden, large balcony and literally 60 seconds walk to the beach.

We’ve got into as daily rhythm now- breakfast al fresco weather permitting, some home schooling using the online lessons provided by the kids’ schools, long walks & morning runs on the beach, reading, relaxing, watching movies and playing game and having Facetime calls with Mum and Erik. Bear is still working a few hours a day using technology to stay connected to his team and clients and we are making the most of the unexpected time together.

Coronavirus is causing huge problems for people around the world and we are just trying to lay low, make the most of it and be grateful for each other and what we have.

The Fab Four

Last Monday in February Kat was over from Dubai so inevitably 'The Fab Four' got together for a girls night out. Andrea came round to mine for pre drinks, we then all met up for dinner at Cecconi's followed by late night cocktails at Sexy Fish.

Brunch in Primrose Hill

Yesterday I strolled through Regents Park over to Primrose Hill where I met Andrea and had this year's first al fresco brunch in the sunshine - Gorgeous Spring day it was, and realising that the Magnolia flower buds have already started to bloom made me very happy!
