London Pride 2013

As we do every year, we joined the carnival atmosphere at the Pride march through central London. A lively colourful, noisy affair in the sunshine was enjoyed by all, and we were able to show our support for equality. Afterwards we grabbed some lunch at the very busy; St. Christopher's Place - the perfect people watching spot

Midweek munchies

Bear knocked off work early today, and we all met at one of our favourite watering holes, the Grazing Goat in Portman Village.
Fortunately we were blessed with sunshine, so were able to enjoy fresh calamari washed down with ice cold wine and espresso martini

Chicken soup for the soul

Bear loves soup,  I love it and I always have done, and I also love cooking it. I suppose it's alsoo very encouraging as my husband appreciates it so much - he really is my biggest fan :-)

Here's tonight's creation, which I cooked for 2.5 hours, in order to get the best flavour and to get the chicken to shred nicely like this.  These are the ingredients I used:

Free range chicken, onions, garlic, leeks, butternut squash, carrots,  freshly shelled green peas, bay leaves, spinach leaves, brown lentils, lemons, chicken stock and a dash of single cream

iPhone images - weekend recap

I "pimped" the sofa with some new black and white cushions

Hubby and I combined dinner and a play date at Anna & Petros'  - parents to Sean's good mate, Nicholas.

We had a delivery of this stunning piece furniture - a Yamaha U4 piano, as my brother no longer has space for it in his new flat. So far I've already taught Sean to play "Twinkle twinkle little star" :-)

Cocktail time at a local hostelry! Served in this beautiful crystal glass (must remember to buy a set for our home) as vodka, fresh lime juice, cucumber and ice
Mummy's little helper, who always tags along to assist me in buying groceries at Waitrose
Food for thought: A beautiful message on a random shop window in Marylebone
"You're only here for a short visit.  Don't hurry, don't worry.  And be sure to smell the flowers along the way"

Extra Curricular Activities

In the beginning of this year, we signed up Sean for after school activities. Mondays he has football, and Tuesdays he plays rugby with coach Richie.

At the moment, they have one PE lesson per week, but Bear and I really want Sean to be more active, and we both agree that physical activity is really good for children.

In fact, in most sports they are taught to develop a positive attitude and learning fair play, and last but not least to deal with both failure and success which I think is great!

Today I arrived early for pick up, and got a chance to spy on him and his team mates. I saw them learning basic skills like throwing and catching, and it was a real joy watching him so engaged, and with an already improved posture! :-)

Nespresso - a love affair

Bear and I decided on getting a new, smaller and neater Nespresso machine, and in white this time.  So we walked over to the Nespresso shop in Selfridges last weekend, to see which one suited our needs.

Whilst there, we discovered these hand blown, double walled, clear glass coffee cups in 'Lungo" (Italian for "long") size, which is the only size we drink. They are really the ultimate accessory to the ultimate drinking experience!

This is certainly the most exquisite coffee cup I've ever come across :-)
