Whoop Whoop Wetherby!

Last Thursday Sean sat assessment exams for one of London's best schools, Wetherby.

So we were  absolutely thrilled to receive a letter yesterday confirming that he had passed the gruelling three hour tests as well as the assessment and has now secured his place in year 6. I was jumping for joy all day and am still grinning!

There is such a lot of pressure on parents and kids in London to secure a place in your preferred senior school. It's almost become like a competitive sport as there are thousands of kids competing for very limited spaces.

We put in a lot of work preparing for the tests in English and Maths and practised mock exams and potential interview questions and so we're delighted that the hard work paid off.

We can all relax now knowing that Sean's education through to age 18 is secure (and conveniently here in Marylebone too!) and we can avoid the pressure of the 11+ process next year. Well done Seany we are bursting with pride!

Birthday Morning

Last Friday I turned 43, yay! I simply love birthdays! The kids and Bear woke me early with singing Happy Birthday in bed, followed by the Swedish version "Ja ma hon leva". Bear had been to the local bakery first and got me a soya cappuccino and a scone (my bday request!)and sparklers.  I also was spoilt with lots of cuddles and kisses and truly enjoyed being one year older as the alternative would not be great lol! - It's a privilege getting older, denied by many so you got to just embrace it!
Bear did the school run so I could have a lie-in, then I went to the salon for a wash and blowdry and I had bubbles with my brunch in the newly opened Brasserie of Light.
To Be Continued...

Marylebone to Camden

Last week's beautiful stroll from Marylebone to Camden (via Regents Park & Primrose Hill) where I picked up the kids from holiday camp as it was half term.
