Weekend in Zurich

Add caption

On 14th of December when both kids had broken up from school, we went to Zurich for the weekend.

Main purpose was to visit our friend Olga and her daughter Sophia that we befriended in Bodrum in the Summer (they also came to visit us in London back in August).

We stayed at the Ambassador hotel where we had two rooms and a balcony with gorgeous views. Couldn't fault it!
First night we met up with them and strolled around the town first, then headed for dinner at Quaglinos. Second night we took the train to Frauenfeld (35 mins) to visit them in their house, had drinkies and ordered pizzas.

In Zurich there are pretty much real fir trees and delicious whiffs of Glühwiein and Raclette on most streets, Christmas markets in every little square, and let's not forget the beautiful lake Zurich! And because it was a clear day when we were there we got a wonderful glimpse of the snow capped peaks in the background.

To be frank (Swiss franc lol!) - Zurich really delivered!

Sleepover at Mum's

Yesterday morning I went to drop off Scarlett Grace at Mums where she'll be staying for the next few nights, and a last minute decision had us in her local for a long lunch and Christmas drinkies - spontaneity at it's best ❤︎

Xmas lunch at Scott's

Snaps from mine and Bear's annual Christmas lunch. We started off as per usual in Scotts, with a pit stop at London's latest hotspot Amazonico, and then wrapped up our evening in good ole Sexy Fish.

Ama and Isabel

Quality time spent with Ama and her daughter these last few weeks, just before they head off to Brazil for 6 months - See you guys Spring next year! You'll be so missed!

Thanksgiving lunch

The thanksgiving menu was important but the holiday is so much more than just piling our plates with goodies. Thanksgiving was a time to show gratitude for friends family and all that we have in life.. And we celebrated it with our best mates Andrea and David, in their house. Gratitude was our attitude!

Swedish Xmas fair Marylebone

The annual Swedish Christmas market in the Swedish church is a seasonal highlight for us expats.
And this year Ama, Patrick and baby Isabel came along too which was so lovely  This particular fair happens to be in Marylebone, a stone's throw from us, and very authentic.

We wandered among the decorative stalls, enjoyed the winning combination of a steaming cup of glögg (mulled wine) and pepparkakor (gingerbread biscuits) and finally a visit to the upstairs cafe where a prawn egg dill open sandwich completed the experience.
