The perfect blazer - a wardrobe essential

I’ve finally found the perfect blazer! Usually I have to compromise on certain factors but this gorge black satin-lapel blazer has got it all.
The picture doesn’t do it justice, but it’s very flattering as got a slick feminine tailoring, and what I really like about it is that it’s a longline design (below the bum) and it’s got padded shoulders too .
I shall be wearing mine with ripped jeans and black court shoes for my lunch with Andrea on Wednesday. See more pics here.

Inside Info

This is my spot at the moment, waiting for an Apple advisor at the Genius Bar in Covent Garden

Where am I right now?

Do you have a name that only your family calls you?
Bear always calls me Rina (short for Catharina, pronounced “Reena”)

Do you have a strange habit?
Sleeping with a sheet and a duvet and swapping throughout the night when I get hot/cold

Which song do you love, and sing when nobody is listening?
The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel

What do you get annoyed by in others?
Sloppy handshakes, no eye contact, people speaking really loud on the trains and when they dump litter on the street

What do you do when you get nervous?
Go to the toilet every 10 minutes

Which side of the bed do you sleep on?
On the side nearest to the toilet.

Some things about you that would surprise others?
I have a phobia of birds and germs in public places

What was the last thing you ate?
A packet of abt 15 steamed brussel sprouts with garlic salt and melted butter

Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
My very good friend Andrea. Some days we speak several times a day abt  everything and nothing

Song of the moment: Not in love

What was the last thing you watched online?
Walt Disney’s Three little pigs from 1933 -  Scarlett Grace happens to be obsessed with it at the mo and must’ve watched it at least a hundred times!

What’s the first thing you notice in a man?
His eyes, his posture, his watch and his shoes (and shoe size lol, I do not like men with small feet).

Siblings? Two brothers, Henrik in Sweden and Erik in London

Good news?
My clean eating/living and exercising the last three weeks have resulted in an inch off my waist and less ab-flab

Tattoos? Nope

Upcoming trips this year?
Child free trip to New York with the man in exactly 5 weeks today, YAY! (not that I’m counting!). We’ve also booked a skiing trip to Courchevel around Easter, our usual two weeks in Turkey mid Summer, and South of France in late August

Drink of the moment? Green matcha tea and hot water with fresh ginger, lemon juice and a touch of Stevia

Last but not least? I'm on day 25 of no booze and no carbs - needless to say I'm feeling very virtuous!

New and noteworthy - crowned skull 💀 ♕

Skull ornaments have been trendy for quite some time now in the interior world and usually the ones you see are jewelled with crystals etc. But this particular one with a crown, made me turn my head in the shop.

New bedside tables

Awaiting delivery of these beautiful French style bedside tables.
I love how they are made from wood and finished with a white paint that is lightly distressed, to make them look antique - perfect up in our sleeping loft.

Three years on planet earth

As it’s become our annual tradition, we all went to the Japanese sushi & steakhouse Benihana in Mayfair last week, to celebrate Scarlett Grace’s 3rd birthday.

It such great fun watching the super skilled chefs performing their tricks and magic whilst cooking up our delicious food right in front of us. Afterwards we strolled over to Picadilly Circus and visited the weird and wonderful exhibition “Believe it Or Not” , which the kids, well mainly Sean, loved.

A lot of three year old girls love to dress up and Scarlett Grace is certainly no exception. As you can see above, she changed in to four different outfits on the same day, and the pink sparkly handbag was her favourite birthday pressie (£5 from Primark!).

My little one is becoming more independent, almost every day. She only uses nappies during night time, and she is able to put on most of her clothes, though her fashion sense is different to mine LOL!

Scarlett Grace is already holding her own in conversations and has developed social skills and knows how to take turns or join in with others.  Although she'll soon be saying goodbye to toddlerhood, she’s a feisty little madam and life certainly won't be boring with her around.

My little baby girl is growing up so fast, and I need to remember to appreciate every minute of this phase 💓

Back to school in new winter uniform

The new term at Scarlett Grace's school/nursery finally started yesterday, and here she is, proudly parading her new obligatory Winter uniform.  After a whole month off,  it's safe to say both mummy and daughter are happy to get back to the usual routines!

Our Saturday

Sofa hunting earlier today.
Kids and hubby liked this one with an electric recliner the most, but it will take 13(!) weeks to have it delivered in white leather. Sigh. Ultimately though it's down to me, but I have not decided yet. Let's see!
The iPhone app showed that I nearly hit my 10k steps daily target by lunch time  👍

We left home early this morning around 9.30am and we walked and scooted all over a gloomy and grey London town, in search for the perfect new living room sofa.

When we finally got back hours later, I had this (first meal today) delish low carb, fuller for longer-dish.

So here's a brand spanking new year, and of course with the start of a new year comes the ‘new year, new me' palaver..
I am definitely not one for New Year's resolutions,  and statistics actually suggests that just 8 % of people achieve their New Year's goals. Hence I am committing only to the first three weeks of January (might extend it to four), LOL! I know it sounds pathetic but it's simply me being realistic.
I've started this year with exercising every day before breakfast (either kettle bell swings or a power walk/jog) and cutting out booze and carbs completely. Watch this space!
