Dolly Parton live

The day has finally arrived and Erik and I are about to watch Dolly Parton at the o2 arena. Warmed up with some rosé wine in a nearby bar amongst lots of concert-goers wearing cowboy hats and cowboy boots LOL (unfortunately I don't own a pair, so I'm wearing over the knee boots instead, with faux leather pants) So excited- she's a true legend!!!!

London Pride 2014

Love love love being part of this, showing my support for gays and other minorities! Now Sean and I are joining Erik and John in the parade, so we've gotta go!

School Sports Day

On Tuesday it was Sports Day at Sean's school. It took place in Hyde Park by the Albert Memorial which is near his school in South Kensington.

Scarlett Grace and I came to cheer on him. He did brilliantly by achieving 1st in two races, and I was so so proud of him :-)  Awww, pass me the tissues!!!

Life lately

Because Sean's doing so well in school, as well as playing and learning his piano homework every week, I wanted to reward him.  And this toy, Transformers, he got to choose himself. Watch a video of him of when he first received it here
Blissfully snoozing on Daddy's lap on a deck chair in Regents Park

Scarlett Grace typically naps 2-3 times a day, but only between 10-25 minutes at a time

My friend Anna's older boy Nick is 7 months older than Sean, so there was always a gap in the development with them two.
But Christopher (above left) is only 11 days younger than Scarlett Grace, which is nice as we can watch them hit all the baby mile-stones at the same time.
Anna (who lives only 5 mins walk from us) and I meet up at least once if not twice a week, for lunch, coffee and play-dates in various cafes, restaurants and parks around central London
Awww chubby baby thighs... (yeah mine too haha!) Scarlett Grace has grown in to a proper little chunky monkey!

Erik and John come over for quality time with the kids whenever they can. Last weekend they came by and took Sean out for a full day so Bear and I got some time alone with our daughter.

Here we've just arrived at Andrea and David's, popped open some bubbly and were about to watch England play in the World Cup, followed by a sleep-over

David is famous for barbecues, and as it was a beautiful Summer's evening we enjoyed it in their garden
Sean has become a real football fan since the World Cup started and really loves watching the games with Daddy, and loves to google the different countries taking part, and learning their capital cities and other info.
Munchkin still sleeps wonderfully well. We put her in one of her many grobags (love this concept of her in a sleeping bag that keeps her nice and snug instead of under a duvet that she most likely will kick off anyway) in her cot around 8pm-8.30pm and on average she sleeps 10/11 hours continuously, wakes up for a feed around 6.30/7am and then goes back to sleep again for an hour or so.

Her motor skills are developing really well. At 5 months she reaches out for the milk bottle when I shake it, grabs it, puts it in her mouth and feeds herself (see video on my Twitter). She also loves to roll over from her back to her tummy, and pulling her socks off LOL!

Lunching with the family on Selfridges new roof top restaurant Q Grill - great food and fabulous views over the city.
These three particular individuals are simply my life, my world - gosh I love looking at this picture!

On Saturday evening after shopping for furniture all day, we swung by Hyde Park to check out the  Swedish Midsummer celebrations. My friends Sussie and Jenny got to meet Scarlett Grace for the first time and were cooing over her for a very long time :-)
Motherhood is a lot more relaxed and enjoyable the second time around! I would recommend everyone to have a go ;-)

Late lunch

Queen's College Prep School

This morning I'm sending off an application form along with Scarlett Grace's birth certificate, passport copy and a cheque for the registration fee

Private education can be highly competitive, especially in central London, and however insane it may seem to register Scarlett Grace already at the age of five months - it still doesn't guarantee her a place at Queens, as we are up against enormously long waiting lists!

It would be a dream come true for my daughter to be accepted to Queens College Preparatory School

Happy Friday and a good weekend!

Hello Darlings,  how are you doing? Currently I'm feeling super perky and rather good! In the last couple of weeks I've been enjoying the beautiful weather in the capital with lot’s of park visits, I've bought an irresponsible amount of clothes (including a dress and shoes for an upcoming wedding next month), although to be fair - not only for myself but for hubby and the kids too! I’ve caught up on some sleep lately (by going to bed and turning the lights out at 10pm!), I have become hooked on this delicious PHD protein bar in Strawberry Cheesecake flavour, and I've started watching Swedish crime drama series, Arne Dahl on Netflix.

Other random news: My back ache is finally getting better and I've started doing kettle bell swings again. Only 9kg at the moment but aiming for the 12kg soon!

1          1. Thought for the day: Gratitude, gratitude and more gratitude!
2. Song of the week: "Hey Now" by London Grammar  (this remix starts out nice and slow but takes a different turning somewhere btwn 2 and 3 minutes, and then gets a disco mixed with house-vibe - L.O.V.E!)
3. Word of the week: World Cup!
4. Drink of the moment: Pimms and Domaines OTT rose
5. Looking forward to: watching Dolly Parton live at the 02 stadium with my brother Erik in two weeks time
6. Currently annoyed by: the difficulty and struggle to shift the last of the pregnancy weight
7. Weekend plans: Viewing a property for sale off Wigmore Street tomorrow, and in the evening we're driving up to North London to Andrea and David's house for a barbecue and drinks in their garden, then watching England's first game in the World Cup (which doesn't start until 11pm, so we will be staying the night there!)

8. Last beauty product I bought: Dr. Organic's Snail Gel!

Last but not least, some snaps from last Friday's dinner at Summerhouse

We always try to request the sofa table, so that Sean can lay down and sleep when he gets tired!

Frrrrrrrrozen Margarita on a hot Summer's day :-)

Lemon sole
Chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream

5 months today!

Today I went to the baby clinic for the first time since Scarlett Grace was 6 weeks old, and had her weighed and measured. (just shows you how much more relaxed you are with your second one - with Sean I went EVERY week for the first few months!!)

At five months, she is still in the 99.6th(!) centile on the height chart with a whopping 69cm, and the scale showed 8.3kg.  Again, on the top end of the chart. Signs of a healthy baby though, hence a happy mother ☺

After school bday party

Sean was very pleased to learn that he is so popular amongst the children in school that he received a birthday party invitation from Orson, who's not even in his class, nor even the same age!
Needless to say, age didn't really matter once the cake was served and entertainment was in full swing :-)

Our Friday!

Sunny school run with Scarlett Grace in the sling, renting a deck chair in Regents Park, al fresco lunch in The Garden Cafe, collecting Sean from play-scheme at 6pm, and to round off the day we're having dinner in our fave waterside restaurant in Little Venice :-) Laters gators!

Double Date

On Saturday evening we arranged for our usual baby sitter, Dominika, to look after the children

We got glammed up, jumped in to a cab and headed for Europe's tallest building The Shard near London Bridge
There we met up with our great friends Andrea and David (who we first met in the Maldives back in 2011) where we had a reservation in Oblix restaurant on the 32nd floor
We wined and dined as we enjoyed spectacular views over London's skyline, and the food was truly exquisite
