Turkey 2023 and the worst news

Our annual Bodrum family holiday took a different turn this time around.
Usually I'd write captions along the lines of 'happiness is sunshine on my nose n sand between toes' or similar, but I struggle even to think let alone write about this particular trip.

A few days in to our holiday, on the 12th of July 2023, I had the worst phone call from London that my mum had suffered a massive stroke.

The rest of that holiday is pretty much a blur. I cant remember much.  Mum, just like that, lost all her abilities, ones that we normally take for granted, and I was mortified, heart broken and felt so helpless. All I wanted to do was to speak to her but she couldn't talk or even pick up the phone when I called.
It was so sudden and shocking and affected then and still now, every part of ours and mums life. More on that to come....
