Paris and Disneyland

As a treat and to wrap up the Summer Term - the boys at Wetherby Prep went on a 3 night's trip to Paris to visit Disneyland and to have a boat party with a DJ on the River Seine - just how spoilt are these boys?!

Here I"m dropping him off at Kings Cross where they were catching the Eurostar.

Back in my days I was lucky if my school took us for a day trip to the local farm to pet some animals haha!

Let the half term begin!

We kicked off the half term in Selfridges yesterday evening with a visit to the braid bar, dinner at Yo Sushi and ice cream for dessert at Snow Flake.

Whoop Whoop Wetherby!

Last Thursday Sean sat assessment exams for one of London's best schools, Wetherby.

So we were  absolutely thrilled to receive a letter yesterday confirming that he had passed the gruelling three hour tests as well as the assessment and has now secured his place in year 6. I was jumping for joy all day and am still grinning!

There is such a lot of pressure on parents and kids in London to secure a place in your preferred senior school. It's almost become like a competitive sport as there are thousands of kids competing for very limited spaces.

We put in a lot of work preparing for the tests in English and Maths and practised mock exams and potential interview questions and so we're delighted that the hard work paid off.

We can all relax now knowing that Sean's education through to age 18 is secure (and conveniently here in Marylebone too!) and we can avoid the pressure of the 11+ process next year. Well done Seany we are bursting with pride!

Back to school in new winter uniform

The new term at Scarlett Grace's school/nursery finally started yesterday, and here she is, proudly parading her new obligatory Winter uniform.  After a whole month off,  it's safe to say both mummy and daughter are happy to get back to the usual routines!

Piano Soiree at school

We're so proud at Sean's musical achievement and after tonight's show we will no doubt carry on encouraging his weekly piano lessons.

Taekwondo

Kiai!
Lil man in his new martial arts outfit today. The new after-school clubs are proving to be a success. Tomorrow he's got chess, and after one session he's already learnt how all the pieces move. Proud Mummy to say the least :-)

This week so far..

New school!
Sean went back to school yesterday, and here he's proudly posing in his new uniform

Beauty Buzz
New in: "Bronze shimmer brick set" by Bobbi Brown, YSL's "touche éclat"(duo pack), and the "Tease Noir" by Victoria Secret which I'm eager to try :-)
Wegner Wishbone 'visual'
- meaning we had the chair on loan for the day to see if we like it or not before deciding on whether or not to spend that sort of money. Verdict? Love it!

Election, stripes and trial at new school

Today as the nation is voting in the General Election (sadly I'm not allowed to vote! Citizens of the EU can only vote in European and local elections in UK, not in UK Parliamentary general elections), I'm wearing nautical stripes in typical Swedish style, and our little fella has a trial morning at a new school that he potentially would join after the Summer term.

At the school gate

First day back at school (after nearly a month off!), and I was greeted by these lovely trees in bloom. Sean's school is in such a pretty location in Connaught Village, and it's at these gates that I drop and pick up my little boy daily.

Proud Parents

Our boy (now 6 yrs old) is doing so well at school! He has just been asked to join the year above class in both Maths and English. So from now onwards, he will study twice a week with Year 2. It's fair to say we are very proud parents!

School Sports Day

On Tuesday it was Sports Day at Sean's school. It took place in Hyde Park by the Albert Memorial which is near his school in South Kensington.

Scarlett Grace and I came to cheer on him. He did brilliantly by achieving 1st in two races, and I was so so proud of him :-)  Awww, pass me the tissues!!!
